The Wizard of Oz could not have come out at a better time. It was released in 1939 and had the message of working together for a common goal and the importance of cooperation. The characters selflessness and courage was the exact thing the people of the 30's needed to move forward. This movie allowed people to escape from real life and think about what they can do to rise again.
